Shooting Gallery Production House

Reflective Journal

We had a field trip down to shooting gallery production house to understand more on how a production house work. Firstly, we watched the show reel done by them, and i felt it was really awesome as a great amount of works were required to be done. Some of the videos had pretty good art direction. After the show reel, we had a Q&A section whereby we can asked as many question as we want to understand their working environment, and some technique that we are not aware of it.

We moved on to the one of their studios where we did a recording of 2000fps, before that they explained to us how 2000fps can be like, example the bouncing of the ball where we can clearly see how the ball bounce. So at first, the person select some of us to jump and flip our hair during the recording. i think it was kind of interesting but we jump too slow end up we didn't see much from the result. We continued in different ways and person until the whole session ended.

The rest of the time was rounding around the office and explained to us different jobs taken at different places. We even get to see scene setting up and getting ready for filming. What interested us the most was the "Artison Asia" where it loan props, sets and costumes out. We got really excited to see the props they had, and some of it were really retro.

That's the end of the field trip at Shooting Gallery Production House. I think this field trip was quite useful for us as we get the chance to experience with the studio, get to understand how working in production house can be like, prepare us for SIP and even for the future if we intended to enter filming industry. We get to see some of the equipment that we didn't had the chance to see before, and we get to see the real "behind the scene". how long they actually have to set up for the scene and it took a lots of the patience to be success.
